Sustainability IS A BIG WORD THAT means a lot to me, and i hope to share that with my clients & community…

i believe in taking steps towards the long-term sustainability of our planet and its resources, for the benefit of all creatures great & small.

i believe in recycling/reusing existing MATERIALS RATHER THAN MAKING NEW ones, aVOIDING MANY OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES OF mass PRODUCTION.

i believe in avoiding plastics and solvents wherever inhumanly possible.

And i believe in Leather, especially recycled leather, as a truly sustainable material.

Most of my work is hand-made from high quality, full grain leather - either upcycled vintage pieces, recycled ‘scraps’ or as byproduct of the meat industry.

leather is one of the oldest & most long-lasting materials of all time - Natural, strong as anything, and guaranteed to only get better with age when treated right; sustainably-sourced & processed leather is my go-to, without a doubt.

i ALSO UNDERSTAND EVERYONE’S VIEWS ARE UNIQUE AND that’s what makes the world an amazing place. i TRY TO ACCOMMODATE VEGAN, allergy-friendly & OTHER MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS AS BEST i CAN, AS WELL AS ACTIVELY researching POTENTIAL NEW NATURAL & SUSTAINABLE ALTERNATIVES TO LEATHER THAT MEET my specs.

my ‘PREMIUM VEGAN’ option is NOT like other cheap, poor quality PU/PVC materials!! i have worked extremely hard to source a vegan alternative to leather that maintains as many of its qualities as possible and offers the same level of finish as my hand-tooled recycled leather.

Made from an extremely hard-wearing polyester webbing with a “faux leather” semi-matte finished PVC coating, it is actually stronger than leather and at just 2.5mm thick has a tensile strength of upto 180kg per cm 😱

Being a man-made, plastic-based material, forthefly PREMIUM VEGAN Pieces will last forever… literally, almost. Of corpse i want my creations to last you a lifetime, but Plastics may not biodegrade for upto thousands of years, if ever, so please consider your options & always purchase responsibly.
