CUSTOM ENQUIRIES

Q. How does this whole Custom thing work, then?

a. I get off on making your wildest nightmares come true; whether it’s the ultimate leather jacket, a harness set, corset or whatever else you come up with! This is what i do best, just send a message through the CONTACT page or email contact@fortheflycustoms.com and we’ll put a killer plan together and agree a price estimate for the project. I take a non-returnable initial payment to cover all the materials needed, and when everything is ready to go your new baby will ship upon final payment!

Q. How much does Custom work cost?

a. Custom prices vary depending on the type and amount of work needed, the materials required, and many other factors. I try really hard to do everything i can to keep prices down for you guys, get in touch and we’ll get an estimate locked in.

Q. Do I need to send in my own pieces to be customized?

a. Nonono! I’ve gotten pretty damn good at finding vintage and new beauties alike, sourcing goodies for custom projects is part of the fun for me, i got ya!

Q. But what if I already have something I really want customized by you?

a. If you have an existing item (jacket/shoes/bag/shirt etc.) that you want to be taken to a whole new level, I’ll be more than happy to oblige! Please send some pictures and initial ideas and we’ll see if it’s something we can put the ForTheFly Stamp of Awesome on…

Q. How long will it take?

a. How long it takes to make a custom piece totally depends on the project, my existing workload and other things. If you have an upcoming important event and need your piece rushed please get in touch to see if i can make it work. Please remember I am just one person with one pair of hands and can’t always meet every deadline.

Q. Does this come in my size?

a. A lot of my pieces are true ‘one of a kinds’ and all sizing will be listed to my best ability in the descriptions, and for all ‘Ready-to-Rock’ pieces the sizing should be pretty clearly listed. I am more than happy to provide more detailed measurements/additional photos for anything upon request.

q. I saw something i really liked but it’s sold out, can you make another one for me?

a. All one of a kind pieces are exactly that; it will be the only one to ever exist just like it. if there’s something you saw and would like to take inspiration from it, i can definitely make that happen, just shoot a custom request!

Q. What methods of payment do you accept?

A. All major online payment methods SHOULD be covered on the website, if your preferred payment method can’t be found here just send a message and I’ll try to sort it somehow.

Q. You keep talking about ‘VINTAGE,’ what’s that about?

a. I believe in doing our bit for sustainability and finding incredible vintage pieces to save, customise, take apart and breathe new life into. It’s true that “they don’t make ‘em like they used to” and vintage biker leathers in particular were made to last. Vintage pieces may show signs of wear, and i believe that’s a huge part of their charm. All time and effort is taken to make sure only the highest quality pieces leave the door! If you’re unsure about anything, just ask and i’ll be happy to provide further pictures and info.

psa: spiked pieces can cause serious injury and should be treated with care & respect.

Screw backed studs may in time come loose and i recommend you tighten any you have access to approximately once a year.

taking care of your leather pieces will ensure they last and age beautifully. purchasing a saddle soap or leather treatment for a little tlc once in while is advised.

many of my metal hardware fixtures may contain nickel and other materials for those with metals allergies, i are more than happy to cater to such requirements wherever possible.
